Iditarod Race Alaska - Aurora Viewing - Dog Mushing

The ultimate sled dog race - Iditarod. Mushing 1149 long miles across Alaska from Anchorage to Nome ! The annual Iditarod sled dog race is the most popular dog mushing sporting events in Alaska. The top mushers from around the world are competing against each other - and are challenged by blizzards, sub-zero temperatures, whiteout conditions and gale force winds along the icy and frozen Bering Sea Coast on their strenuous way to the finishing line in Nome.

Most Iditarod participants are completing the race between eight and ten days. Come and join us for the great adventure of a lifetime and witness the race from the ceremonial starting line on Anchorage’s 5th. Avenue to the finishing line in Nome on the shores of the Bering Sea. Our tours are fully supported and are providing in-depth race history information of the past and the present race. Additional Alaska Tour Options include: visit the sled dog kennel of a former Iditarod musher, Prince William Sound glacier cruise, world-class Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) observation, Winter Rail Tours, Downhill Skiing and Wildlife Viewing within Kenai Fjords National Park. We are experienced tour company and are operating Iditarod Tours for many years.

The largest state of the USA provides some extraordinary records: Extreme winter temperature ratings of -50 degrees and even below are common and the heaviest recorded snowfall occurred near Valdez with an accumulation of 975 inches. Some of the largest glaciated areas in the world are found in the Southeastern part within magnificent Glacier Bay. Alaska is home to 17 of the 20 highest mountain peaks in North America, 15 National Parks and about 34.000 miles of shoreline. Finally Alaska provides the longest daylights hours – in Barrow, 800 miles south of the North Pole for example - the sun never sets from May 10 onwards until August. Welcome to the Alaska Winter Wonderland - Experience True Nature !
